2024 Legendary Partners
Children’s Advocacy Centers Honor 2024 Legendary Partners
On March 4th in the Capitol Rotunda, the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Kentucky honored 16 individuals who have shown dedication to serving child victims of abuse in their community. Attorney General Russell Coleman provided the opening remarks and presented the awards to these outstanding individuals. A cape was placed on each Legendary Partner to highlight their heroic qualities.
Children’s Advocacy Centers (CACs) are child-focused facilities that coordinate the investigation, prosecution, and treatment of child abuse while helping abused children heal. CACs in Kentucky serve more than 7,000 children each year by providing forensic interviews, victim advocacy, medical exams, and mental health services to child victims of abuse and their non-offending caregivers.
Working with partner agencies is essential to the CAC and multidisciplinary team model. The services provided by Kentucky's Children's Advocacy Centers connect and support various agencies, including hundreds of law enforcement agencies, Department of Community-Based Services social workers, Commonwealth and County Attorney Offices, and many more medical providers, therapists, educators, volunteers, board members, and more.
CAC Kentucky is grateful for Churchill Downs for their sponsorship of this celebration and their continued support.
The 2024 Legendary Partners represent Kentucky’s 15 regions and the state coalition.
